An APP that helps fresh Rutgers students
know campus better.

Rutgers has five campuses. Although the university provides bus services, new students still get frustrated with not catching the right bus on the right schedule. The App helps new students fit into the new campus life more smoothly.

How difficult is it to find buildings on this campus?

What is your recommendation fo
a new student to
find their class?

As a new student, What was the pain point in finding buildings on campus for new students?
User Research
13 undergrad (2 transfers)

Students had a hard time finding their classes when they first came to Rutgers, but eventually found their ways.
Questions:
Students’ main problem was figuring out which bus to take, and which stop to get off to get to their destination.
And then finding the actual building proved to be difficult.

Personas:
Kevin Rockett (19 Years Old Freshman Student)
Janie Lane (43 Years Old Busy Single Mother of 3)
Danny De Ville (20 Years Old Sophomore Transfer Student)

Journey Map:
Needs to get from dorm to class/next destination efficiently and on time. He is willing to do anything that would save his time - since he is very involved on campus' activities and needs to get to all his meetings on time, it would be better for him to find effective ways to commute around campus through the bus system.
Main Stressors:
Waiting for Bus, anxious since the bus service schedule can be erratic.
Jumps on the bus, anxious to know if he’ll make it to class on time since traffic seems pretty bad.
Barely makes it to class on time.
